Two Birds w/ One Stone

Today, June 29th, happens to be my brother Miles' birthday. Mine happens to be tomorrow, on the 30th. As you can imagine, growing up, the simple thing to do was to have a birthday party together. Here are some photos from a party my dad and step-mom organized for us at Putt-Putt back in the early 80s. The old Putt-Putt Golf Course in Dothan, AL was the stage for many Wiregrass birthdays. Canoeing

Just recently we joined some friends on a canoeing adventure on the French Broad River. The outfit we used was Asheville Outdoor Center. Most of the images above were provided by Melida, the dark-haired lady paddling in the next to last image. Behind her, capturing the image, is her husband Diego. In the first image, Kade is up front. On up ahead of us are Aaron and Andi. Oh, and yes, that's a shot of the incredible Biltmore House and Estate. We also had nice views of the Biltmore Winery and Inn. My brother Mark works at the Antler Hill Village on Biltmore Estate. We may have even glimpsed it.

Good Times

Just recently Kenny and May (photo one) invited many of their friends over for an authentic Chinese barbecue and dinner. Luckily, Kade and I were on the invitation list.  The hosts were gracious, the food was divine, the atmosphere was lively and the view of the lake and mountains was spectacular.

I met Kenny through the Asheville Badminton Club, where I play 2-3 times per week.

Two more times in 2010, we were invited back over for dinner.  Then, in 2011, it was a big July 4th party!
