After high school in Abbeville, Alabama, Robert Vann played three years of football at Auburn University on a full scholarship. He also tried out for the basketball team, and made it. In fact, basketball was his favorite sport. However, the football coach wanted him to give up the idea of basketball, so he did. Later, Robert Vann suffered an injury that ended his career. He was 6'4" and 220 lbs.
