Getting Settled & Exploring a Bit

Check out the bear cap on the table to the right.  And "The King" and Prince had roles to play this trip.  More on that later.

a few Prince items for my sister

The quilt on the chair was one I brought down.  Somebody thinks our grandmother Edith (Vann) Espy made it.  Not so sure yet.  I had it for a while, and just felt it was time to hand it over to my sister.

Since we were going to be in Headland for many days, we decided to spook things up.  Of course, the Asheville craft beer would be gifts to family and friends.

We bought this bear with bird on the drive down from Asheville.  It was gift for my sister Leslie.  The bear represents Leslie's family in Asheville, and the bird represents our late mother.

Was happy to see Headland taking things seriously.

Marc Willis was the first person to walk the square with me.   After the square, we walked down to the First Baptist Church cemetery, where he pointed out some graves that had some very unique stories.

Halloween is around the corner, and on the corner!

My goal was to try to go ahead and find some graves I had heard were out there, but had never seen before.

I also did a bit of straightening up.

2 hours later, better lighting

This is the place that was transformed into the great Airbnb.
