We had already seen a # of bears on this day. I walk this road regularly....as do others. It's a favorite spot for walkers, bicyclists and joggers When we arrived on the scene, I'm not sure how long people had been waiting to move on through. The bears (one quite big) were on the road. I didn't hear it until later, but people on the other end were shouting for me to blow the horn, to move the bears along. What they didn't know, though, was that we wanted to take a few photos, and the last thing I would have done was to quickly blow the horn. We got our few pictures, and I drove up slowly to shoo the bears away. In the end, it's also their territory. And patience is the key! They are beautiful! This is life in Asheville.
