I went with a friend to dinner at Rye Knot recently. It's a good restaurant with a combo brewery/distillery. The decor certainly is interesting. On one side they have paintings for sale - often of musical stars. Last year I purchased some Prince art there.
The Ray Charles painting brought back a memory of City Stages in Birmingham, AL in 1997. City Stages was an annual music festival that is no more, but back then it was huge. I drove up (3.5 hours) from Headland to attend it. I remember enjoying Ray Charles. That night the Chicago Bulls were playing the Utah Jazz in the NBA Finals, and there were some TVs set up outdoors for people to watch it. I had my eyes on it as well.
