Repurposing

I inherited a party punch bowl set from my mother.  It's beautiful crystal and I'm happy to have it, but it's not very practical.  It takes up a lot of space, and it's rarely used.  After thinking about donating it to Habitat 4 Humanity, I did a little research online to find other uses for it.  We put tea light candles in the punch cups, which at night created some nice ambience.  We also bought some floating candles to try out in the punch bowl.  So that's another idea.  My favorite was using it to hold watermelon slices!  We did it a few times this summer.

And while I'm sharing, let me just say that the watermelon this year was the best I've had since childhood.  It was so sweet and good.  Kade purchased it at Whole Foods, and I checked the label to see where it was grown.  It was a farm in California that focuses on growing organic produce.  So delicious!
