Snowdrops

As a child, I remember Daddy had many plants of all kinds that he brought to the house from the Headland house when Granny Espy lived there - before Aunt Frances returned to Headland from New Jersey - about 1943.  Years later, Aunt Frances gave Bud and me some plants from the Headland Espy house.

Mother moved many of the plants from West Benson St. house to the new address on Azalea Circle in Decatur.  She gave me some of those plants to Bud and me when we lived at our first house on Cherry Tree Lane in Sandy Springs, GA.  While Bud and I lived there (1965 - 1981), Aunt Frances gave us some plants from the Headland house including the vine, Vinca minor.  When Bud and I moved to our present house, we took some of the plants from Cherry Tree Lane. Somewhere in our current yard, we probably have some of the Vinca minor.

Today, when I went to get the morning paper, I felt like Granny Espy waved to me, alerting me to her snowdrops. We simply don't have the time and energy to put into the yard as we once did.  In fact, Bud is the one who did most of that work.  So the snowdrops aren't as full of blooms as they once were.  But they are still there.

Anyway, I thought I would pass along some pictures of Granny Espy's snowdrops that are still being passed along and greatly enjoyed.
