It's been over two months since Tropical Storm Helene hit the Asheville area. For the first since then, I decided to drive over to the River Arts District - in particular, Foundation Walls - to inspect the damage and the stage of clean-up. When I was done, I drove over to Haywood Rd in West Asheville for a cappuccino and a slice of delicious almond cake.
Haywood Rd, much like most of West Asheville, was not flooded. The most damage it got was trees knocked down and power and water outages. Everything seems to be back to normal.
