Pleasant Grove Baptist Church - Abbeville, Alabama
Back in the '90s, I spoke at this church one evening, to a pretty big group of adults. I had returned from my year in Uzbekistan and they desired to know more about my experiences and what it was like living among mostly Muslims and whether or not they were receptive to the Gospel. I remember it being one of my best public speaking experiences. And I loved the Q&A session afterwards.
Just from a personal development perspective, a big takeaway from that evening was that you're more likely going to do a great job when your knowledge and passion about a topic converge at a high level. The times I've done a horrible job public speaking, it was the opposite.
