Bench Dedication

Today is my dad's birthday, so Happy Birthday! Not long ago, Dad spoke at a dedication ceremony on behalf of our family. Our family was dedicating a park bench in the Headland town square in the memory of Major Watt Espy, Sr. and Edith Vann Espy. This park - and the town itself - is currently going under a huge transformation thanks to a renovation grant the town was awarded. My dad is wearing the sunglasses in the photos below. My step-mom is wearing black. My dad's sister is wearing the pink outfit.  What's fitting about the project is that the bench is right in front of the bank where Major Espy made a huge mark, and where many other family members and Headland citizens have worked or have had some kind of strong connection.
