The First National Bank is mentioned. I also see R.S. Solomon, L.T. Solomon and Watt Espy's maternal great-uncle, Dr. M.T.C. Scott.
If I’m not mistaken, Moses Blumenfeld owned a haberdashery or general textile store in the general
vicinity of where HNB is located now. GM Kate Vann worked the store for Mr. Blumenfeld as a teen
or young woman and I’m pretty sure she was working there with she married GD Vann. I’m not certain
but I think Barney Blumenfeld was his son. Barney was a traveling-salesman who sold clothes and he
called on Daddy at White & Vann Co. for many years. He and Daddy were very good buddies. I
think he lived in Dothan and that’d make sense because Dothan had a thriving Jewish community in
that era. - Bill Vann
