Two of our favorite shops are Antique Tobacco Barn and Nostalgique. It's a little eerie in some of the larger antique shops/warehouses. Sometimes there will be furniture from an entire room set out on display. Nice, extravagant stuff usually. It makes you wonder about the history of it - who owned it, how much joy it brought people, or maybe the horrors it experienced. No matter what, it's a sobering reminder that we have a shelf life that's far shorter than our stuff. And something we're enjoying and admiring today, in our homes, might be picked over, laughed at or simply ignored by others.
