This is the original First Baptist Church sanctuary, and what I really remember from the '70s and '80s.
This mother and child died the same night the old Henry County High School burned down. Unrelated incidents, of course. They died of carbon monoxide poisoning while in their sleep. The husband was out of town. - story via Marc Willis
Notice the blades of grass on the slab. The grass had been freshly cut. I had to hand sweep before photos! After doing this a few times, I realize it made more sense to return another day with a broom and other supplies. More on that later!
If I saw some dead or old flowers, I pretty much readied them for the trash.
