from above article

Uncle Jim owned and piloted a 4-seater plane from the early 50s to early 70s.  Told me how he flew Charles Woods to Tallahassee to check on a motel he owned.  His sister Edith never flew with him, but Emily, other siblings and Jackie Bridges did.  He would fly it to Auburn (40 minutes) and Montgomery mostly.  He said one time with three others in the plane, he almost crashed it.  Scared everybody.  - from visit in Headland on April 19, 2021

I know he flew regularly while I was in high school because I flew some with him.  At one time there was a small but active Headland flying group that included Wilton Holman, Uncle Jim and Charlie Smith. I’m sure there were others I have forgotten.  - Bill Vann
