This took place in Dothan, Alabama on February 7, 1997. It was scheduled to take place somewhere else, but got turned away there because it was considered too violent. And so Dothan was chosen! I went to it. And so did my mother and stepdad. I want to think there was a photo of us (in the stands) in the newspaper. What's interesting is that Joe Rogan was the announcer! He was an unknown commodity then. I bet it was before Fear Factor even. Fast forward to 2010 or so, and I was enjoying Joe Rogan's podcast on YouTube, and stayed with him till he moved to Spotify. One day when I was watching, he mentioned his UFC gig in Dothan, Alabama. He shared some funny stories. I also learned that he talked about it in his comedy act.
