We had seen this several times while driving through the South Slope. Not a huge fan of food trucks, so was a bit skeptical. But I do love BBQ! And Bears! After our second visit to Sauna House (still love it!), we stopped off at Bear's. Got it to go. We ordered brisket, baby back ribs and chopped pork. All very delicious. The sides - beans, sweet potatoes mac and cheese - also very much hit the spot. And although it was a bit stressful ordering (coming thunderstorm didn't help), I was very impressed with how well packaged everything was. Boxes were sturdy, and everything was very organized. There was a certain quality about it - even better than some of the brick-and-mortar establishments in town. That makes a difference. We can't eat BBQ all the time, since it's so heavy. However, when we're ready, Bear's Smokehouse will be on our minds.
