Summer Hikes

These are some images from hikes I went on last year.  Even though I mostly am in the city, my routes take me up into the mountains.  That's why I say Hikes rather than Walks.

The question I have is:  Are people doing the best they can to secure their trash?  We know there are bears around.

Good luck for me!

That's a dog running free.  Sorry to have to shame people, but there is a leash law.  And I saw this dog running far ahead and behind them at times.  There are bears out there.  This is what happens:  Dog sniffs a bear, goes after it, gets chased back to humans, bear bites humans, bear is put down, then people complain about the dangers of bears.  Who's at fault?  And I guarantee you that some people in that situation, when they report the bear attack, conveniently leave out the fact their dog was running loose.  Another issue is that people like me, who might be walking in the vicinity, could be the one that dog runs towards, with the bear in hot pursuit.  Or maybe bears that get agitated by these unleashed dogs show aggression towards anybody who later walks by.  People need to use their intelligence.
