Johnny Carson
He was a staple in American homes for three decades. My grandmother loved him - that, I know. When I would spend the night with her, we'd stay up and watch The Tonight Show. Later, I moved on to Late Night with David Letterman. My mother seemed far more interested in Letterman than she did Jay Leno, who replaced Carson.
