Arrived very early at the Headland United Methodist Church Cemetery in order to catch the sunrise (6:33 AM). At 7 AM, cousin Sam Vann III met me out there for a little walkabout.
After the cemetery, we did an impromptu drive to the town square for a little walk. This and my other walks on the square were paving the way for a more thorough "walking tour" with cousin Sid Brannon.
Kade and I returned in April '21. Rode bicycles from the square to the cemetery. Not far! Kade took these diagonal images of the cemetery, using our Nikon D7200.

I found your blog while trying to find contact info for Sam V III. All is well in Headland. Lots of construction going on. Hope all is well. My grandmother was Leta Oates Merritt. Her parents were Wyatt Oates and Mamie Solomon.
